I was spraying weed killer in my garden this a.m. and a sudden gust of wind came out of nowhere a blew a?
Question:little onto my dogwood shrubs and my hostas. Will they be ok?
Answers:
The shrubbery and hardwood plants will be fine, however you can expect the hostas to die. The best advice I can give you is to immediately cut the hostas level with the ground. They'll grow back within a few weeks, I promise!
Herbicides (weed killers) are systemic and it will penetrate the plants system down to the roots. So, if you don't cut the foliage off the hostas very soon, the poison is capable of not just killing them this year, but will prevent them from ever coming back. Don't wait to see the damage, as it will be too late by then!
They should b. I'm not an expert on plants, but i think they'll be ok
Should be ok. Did you wash off with water straight away ? Even now a spray of clean water would help. If the concentration was for weeds only, hardy shrubs should be ok. If you are really concerned, you could cut off the affected leaves/branches.
IMMEDIATELY! spray it down with water. Most weed kill take 10 to 30 minutes to penetrate the foliage system. If it was only weed kill you may not have to worry. Its the all vegetation kill you need to concern yourself. Wash down with water just in case though.
If you even have to ask this question, than perhaps this is something you shouldn't be spraying on the earth at all.
if you let it dry on them ... chances are they will be damaged ... i don't think it will kill them...but if it was translocated thru the plant at enough dosage ... then yes it could kill it...
the trick to that when it happens it to quickly douse the leaves with water to wash off the herbicide...
they should be ok,since what you are using is to kill weeds with
