Tree felling in confined space?

Question:i have a tree which needs to be felled (due to it's roots beginning to damage my foundations) however there isn't space to fell it in one go so i'll need to do it limb by limb any good advice out there? chainsaw will be the most commonly used tool

Answers:
your best bet is to hire a professional . useing a chain saw in a tree is very dangerous. how ever there is a knot that you can use it's called a butt check ,tie a half hitch then about 5 inches out the limb tie another half hitch, then about another 5 inches tie a running bowline cut the limb in between the two half hitches. you will need another person on the ground to handle the ropes. if the limb is large and heavy take a couple of wraps around the base of the tree.

First off you will need someone that know what they are doing to cut it down for you.
Check around and find a person that cuts trees down like this for a living. I just had 2 very large oak trees cut down this way and cost me $250 dollars or about $125 per tree.
But they will come out look it over and give you a price.
It is something to watch also lol.
Where tree felling is not an option due to confined space of other considerations, the tree is dismantled in sections. This operation invloves numerous techniques including the use of ropes and rigging techniques to control the lowering of the removed sections.

I would call a professional.
When it comes to tree trimming or removal unless you are experienced I would call a professional that has insurance. You will save yourself a lot of work and if things go wrong you will not be left with damage to your house and still have a tree problem.

What they do is use a hydrolic bucket and take the tree down peice by peice. I am assuming the tree is large if the roots are doing damage to you house.
Hire an insured company to take it down. Chances are they will remove the limbs first and chip them up. Then will cut the tree from the top down in 18 inch chunks which are easier to drop than an entire tree. The may even offer to haul the wood away or to grind the stump out. They are insured in case they drop it on you or the neighbors personal property.
