This is my first time to mow other people grass?
Question:Well i need money so i can buy a 30 gb ipod. I am kinda shy when it comes to things like this. i don't know what to say to the person im asking!! what if they say no.

Maybe you could start with talking to people your family knows pretty well, that will help you get more comfortable with asking.
If you just go door to door, or phone people and ask, most people will probably be polite but no matter what you do you will run into some people who are jerks. Just be polite and go on your way when that happens, don't take it personally or let it make you feel bad, some people are just miserable and try to make everyone else miserable, too.
You could also try making up some fliers to hang in public places in your neighborhood, so people that were interested could contact you. I would suggest NOT putting your age on the ads for your own safety (may attract the wrong sorts of people).
if they say no just say thank you sir or ma,ma for you time have a nice day
Be polite, look them in the eyes, and say "I'm offering to mow your yard for whatever you are currently paying, minus $5, or whatever you think is reasonable. I'm doing this to earn money to buy my own iPod."
Most adults will be proud to help you learn a valuable money lesson to earn it yourself.

make a flyer...idk my brother is doing this right now, he just put up flyers with his number on them, so you dont really hafta confront the ppl, they call you if they are interested
