So I planted my vegetable garden a week ago. When can I expect plants to appear. How many weeks?

Question:

Answers:
Most seeds germinate in about a week, depending on the weather. They cannot endure frost. Depending on how much soil you covered them with, you should be seeing some little shoots shortly.

It truly depends on the vegetables, bean and peas will germinate in a week and they are the most fun for the kids as they are fast growers! The rest may take up to 3-4 weeks depending on what you have planted. Next time check the back of the seed packages unless you are using the seeds from the fruits and vegetables themselves? I have to tell you a funny story, I am a planter myself! One year I planted tomato seed early in the year out side in a nice long line and nothing happened-Nothing for 2-3 weeks so I bought plants that had been started earlier and set them out. Well it so happens that tomato's are pretty picky about how and when they want to germinate and grow they want cool nights and warm days with some water! After a couple of rain showers here comes this perfect line of weeds under my now nicely growing tomato plants that I had bought halfway grown...I had to ask my mom what are these weeds here? She just laughed and laughed and helped me set the rest of the weeds into a new garden area so that we had bushels and I mean bushels of tomato's a few weeks and for the rest of the summer. I had sauce, I made stewed, I had diced, I HAD TOMATO'S! See God has a sense of humor too!
