How can I keep our neighbor's cat from using our nice lawn for a litter box ?

Question:Cats, Dogs and other critters have strong sense of smell - there has to be a smell that cats are repulsed by . . .

Answers:
Speak with your neighbor and let them know you dont want their cat in your yard (politely). If they dont keep it out, then call animal control and let them haul the cat away. Your neighbors would likely get the message from that, if they didnt the first time.

When it comes into your yard, spray it w/ a hose.
Most cats hate water, and it's basically harmless.
Orrrrr, get a dog.
Also, my mother in law breaks shish ka bob skewers in half and puts them in the dirt,( if they go in a specific area) but she is also not the nicest person in the world
BB Gun
you have to clean up all of the poop and spray with a lemon scented dish soap with a hose-end sprayer on the lawn. It will confuse kitty and actually is a good way to help deal with lawn pests without chemicals.. grubs in particular.

Be sure to throw the poop back in your lovely neighbor's yard, where it belongs (sorry.. I hate cats).
How about a motion-activated sprinkler? If it's the entire lawn that you're concerned about...
Well,
It's odd that the neighbor's cat is using your lawn for a litter box unless you have lots of loose soil around to resemble "litter." My cat never goes to the bathroom outside of its own litter box. In any event, if this particular cat does that, maybe its owners are not cleaning the box or the cat has developed a habit to only go outside all or some of the time. Spraying it with water will most likely deter it from doing it again. It's a tough call. You can restrict a cat from doing certain things inside the house, but its hard putting with things that will stop it from outside jobs...

Talk to your neighbor or just frighten, not harm the cat.
This is an easy one! all you need to do is get you a spray bottle and fill it with white vinegar and water. spray this in the area that you dont want them to go in and it will keep them away. this is how I trained my dogs not to go on my concreat patio and around my flowers.!
Call animal control. Cats should not be allowed to roam outdoors. It's dangerous to their health and they can get hit by cars. Also, they kill sondbirds, not to mention using neighbors' yards as litter boxes. There is a cat in my neighborhood that walks all over my black car and lays in my ornamental grasses and crushes them.
If you can, speak to your neighbors first. I have 9 cats (they have an outdoor enclosure so they don't wander the neighborhood) and cats consider the entire world their litterbox. I use powdered cayenne pepper to keep my cats from my flowerbeds. It won't harm the plants (or the cats).
Pepper and cinammon hurts kittys soft paws. Here is a website with some remedies (its all about cat repelling) and PetSmart has natural cat repelents.
