My onions starting to head. I was told to bend (not break) the stems over for bigger onions. Does this work?

Question:They are doing great, but do I pull the seed heads off, bend the stems or leave them alone? Thanks!

Answers:
Bending the stems down including the seed heads dries your onions in the ground which makes them last longer once they are pulled up--do not continue to water them. Or you can pull them now and dry on a screen in your garage, or a mesh bag leave the tops on when you pull.

whatever you decide to do dont forget to let one go and you will have seeds for next year...
