How do you know when to pick watermelon its pretty large after you pick it shold you let it ripen off the vine

No do not pick it until its ripeĊ¸ Look at the little curly tendrils on the vine. THey are all along the vine. When the two or three tendrils closest to the melon turn brown and dried up the melon is ready. Chill and eat.
If it sounds hollow when you "knock" on it
flick it and when it sound hollow ..its time to pick it..
Knock on it, PUNK sound ready, PINK sound not ready.
