How do you get the wet/hot grass smell out of tubs?

Question:When I mow my lawn I just put the grass into 20 gallon tubs. But the other day I left the grass in them for a couple days, which it rained a lot, but they were partially covered. The tubs smell horrible now, and washing out with water didn't help. Is there an easy way to get rid of the smell?

Answers:
Baking soda can help clean almost anything. I use it to get the smell of old food out of the sink. It works for me! Scrub the baking soda around the tub until you've reached every spot where the smell was. Leave it there for an hour or so then come back and rinse it out with cold water. Good luck!

Wash out with vinegar and water.

Better yet, leave the grass clippings in your lawn. They add mulch, which retains water, and they provide needed nutrients to the grass.
Toss some baking soda into the tubs. Make sure you cover all surfaces and then add water. Let the water and baking soda soak in for a while and then clean them out again.
Use borax soap. it's an old timers soap but work on stuff most new soap wont touch. It works great on soured clothing
