You can buy these things from pet shops called Dog Rocks (or Dog Rox, not sure how its spelt) for about £10. You put them in your dog's water bowl and it somehow neutralises their pee so that your lawn doesn't die. The do work apparently, although I haven't got personal experience as I don't have a dog.
As for the existing brown patches, recycle used tea bags to grow grass seed on your kitchen window sill (in a tray or tub) then just put them in place when they've grown and they fill in the dead spots. Obviously, you have to let them root in completely before you mow those spots though!
Nothin you can do . The patches WILL eventually grow over. You MUST train your little doggie to go where YOU say its to go. If you take it a special area you have decided it can use, then encourage it to use it, and make sure you have a delicious treat you can immediately reward him with, and Bingo, it wont be long before he goes straight to that spot and does the job everytime.
re seed it then put ketchup in his food stop it happening again
No need to worry the grass will grow back in time. You could apply a little grass seed. Seeding will be quicker as it doesnt take long to germinate. Bloody dogs. There is something on the market you can buy for the dog but i cant remember wat it is called. sorry. Good luck
my lawn is the same what iv been told wait for your dog to go to the toilet and wash down with a hose pipe but how do you know when your dog has been so what i do is put a sprinkler in the centre of your lawn and turn it on twice a day for about 20 min it does work good luck
Don't worry. It's just dead grass. ( Probably from the weeds. ) If it disturbs you, go to The Home Depot and buy grass seeds. After planting, don't step on them until they are full grown.
Your dog may need more water to make the pee less acidic.

Most important is to get the dog to wee elsewhere, and to water the spot as soon as it has been weed on. The grass should, with time and water, grow together over the patches, or you can resow some and hope that it grows. It took a long time, but I have managed to convince my two dogs to wee and poo in the bushes. We like to lie on the lawn in the sun, and an excrement free lawn is lovely.
