When should I pull out an Idaho potato and how?
Question:I planted an Idaho, and I can't wait to see how it's done. Perhaps a video?

OK. I plany potato's every year so here is what I do. Depending on how many you have planted. I have some already too dig up now if I wanted too. But if you want all you can get from your plant here is what you do. The plant will sprot little flower on them if you want until the plant looks like it is starting to die out dig your potato the plant by then has no more energy to grow anymore and will not hurt you potatos when it does look like it is dying. Hope this helps. Oh, by the way I filled four 5 gallon buckets last year of potato's. Good luck.
It would be the BEST VIDEO EVAR!
Ask Kutch, but I would wait until September.
Planted an Idaho or an Idaho potato? If you mean you planted an Idaho potato you dig it up in the late fall same as when other potatoes are ready. The longer you wait the bigger it will be, but dig it before a deep freeze. Actually I'm sure you meant this question to be silly, the only reason I clicked on it is because I live in Idaho and when I buy potatoes the are all Washington grown, go figure. In Idaho you cannot buy an Idaho potato, they are worth more shipped out of state. I guess because here in Idaho we know a potato is a potato, there is nothing special about an Idaho potato.
Any time before mid June.If it is small just plant the entire thing.ifl arger and it has several eyes (thesprouts)cut it in chunks with1-3 eyes per piece . You can plant in the ground. or in a barrel or tire.If you plant in a barrel or tire, You may cover with dirt OR just cover with straw or cut grass, this wayis best because the potatoes will grow on top of the ground.See the Green Garden Sheet for details.
i dig my potato's when the plant die then if you have them planted in straw brush away the straw and pick the potato's if the are in soil i first use a garden fork the to a shovel that way you not cutting good potato's if you do you can soak them and use them first here in Pennsylvania it will be late August early September before the are ready i usually plant my onions and potato's at the same time
