Disposing of Snails?

Question:What is the best way to get rid of snails once you've caught the blighters? I don't fancy just killing them. Can they serve a useful purpose elsewhere?

Answers:
good for you - i wouldnt kill them either. take them to a woodland nearby to you...and let them go! going to give you a star for not killing them - well done!

put them on your (flatish)shed roof.
Let them play russian roulette with the seagulls.
The few that survive deserve it
here in australia, kids get bags and collect up to 100 snails and then sell them to french restaurants, i think they encourage the snails to grow, so perhaps you should check out the variety and i doubt you'd get that much

consider using them as pets- seeing that you dont like hurting them! :)

and also, see if you can use them as part of a compost bin- because they like to eat leafy stuff/ vegies and decaying organic matter- i just looked it up, and i think its possible. also their slime might have some use in the bin, try to find a way to contain them though.
Hi,
Well I can only think of three ways for the blighters' demise.
One being a swim in salted water, as the innards turn to mush.
Not a pretty sight.
A more pleasant one is to hoick them out, coat in batter and deep fry. Escargot and all that.
Well I was pleasantly suprised that done in such a fashion, a small portion is rather nice, although my French girlfreind at the time said something untranslatable, but I think it was along the lines of "muck"

There again, you could shift, en mass, the critters to your competitave neighbours allotment.

Just a thought or two.

If you like eating snails, you can put them in jar foe a coule of wks with carrots. once their secretions have turned orange they are OK to eat. I saw this on Gordan Ramsey's F word.
They are no good for your garden as they just eat all your plants.
You can catch them with an open tub with beer in the bottom!!
Collect them up, put them all in a plastic bag, tie the bag up and put them in the dustbin. Haven't seen one of the slimey little things work their way out of the bag yet.
They do not serve a useful purpose anywhere. If they served as food for other animals, then why are there always so many snails everywhere. The options of dumping them in a nearby forest, or a plastic bag in the bin are the best.
i am overnn with snails.they eat all my plant. but there is a solution. they love aclcohol put lager or cidar in a cup container in the morning you will be very surprised. they love it so much they drink their selfs to death but a least they die happy! it does work good luck!
