Mower does not accelerate, any idea?
Question:I have a Craftsman DG3000 hydrostatic garden tractor. As I am moving forward, the tractor slows down, almost coming to a stop (engine still run); then will start moving forward again. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what is causing this? What is the solution to my problem? Thank you.
Answers:
If it is a hydrostatic mower, it is probably driven by a drive belt. It is possible it is wearing out. It will also do that if the belt is wet, and it slip on the drive or secondary pulleys. There mat also be a spring that provides tension on one of the idler pulleys causing that.
Good Luck!
It sounds like a bad clutch.
