Experience with Recycled Tire Material for Playground Area?

Question:I recently put together a playset in the backyard, and am trying to choose what the best underlayment would be to replace the lawn area it is currently on. The maufacturer suggests wood chips, sand, or recycled tire material. I am leaning towards the latter. Does anyone have direct experience with this product? Any downsides? (ie Is there a choking hazard if a toddler tries to eat it.?) Thanks in advance.

Answers:
There's a choking hazard with everything within a toddler's reach! :)

Really, the recycled tire material is wonderful. The kids won't hurt their feet walking barefoot on it, and it provides a soft landing for falls. The only downside is that sometimes large pieces of tread find their way into the batch. Some kids collect them! But, overall, the color and the quality last forever.
