What tropical plants and trees do well potted indoors?

Question:I am trying to find tropical plants and trees that can survive potted indoors. I live in Denver, Colorado where there is no humidity, but I have floor to ceiling glass walls and tons of sunlight. I am looking for plants that grow fairly tall 7' to 10'. They would also have to be somewhat cold hardy.

Answers:
Rubber trees

I'm doing fairly well with night blooming jasmine.
I tried to put by the air conditioner vent, trying to get the scent to carry threw out the house, but it went dormant. After putting back near the window it started going again.

I have on purposely keep the plant under three feet. After I get long stems I cut it off and put it in water, which starts a new plant.

After 7 years I now have four generations.

I leave in Minnesota, from California, so I was pleasantly surprise that I could keep a tropical plant alive, let alone bloom in Minnesota.

Night blooming jasmine are known to grow taller the 8 feet tall.
ficus can get large if you have patience.. takes a long time to grow or can be quiet expensive if you get a mature one. my mother had great success with indoor hibiscus but you would want to get a rose of sharon type to get a tree size variety. almost anything tropical can be raised indoors with the right light and humidity.. a spray from mist bottle every other day should do it. again.. tropical plants are still tropical and need certain warmth. there are many "indoor" type fruit trees available now too. good luck!
