Gumbo Soil... Medina?

Question:New yard has horrible clay/gumbo. Read things to try but heard Medina has good product to break down. Just got the Soil Activator... Has anyone tried this &, if so, what were your results? Also other tips welcomed!!

Thanks!!

Answers:
By all means use it but this isn't a one time fix. The soil can be greatly improved in a few years by tilling compost into it at first. If it's too late for that and you don't want to start over you can top dress the soil with compost, mulch, manure, peat moss, etc. Just rake it evenly into the grass and plan to do it over a period of time. I would try to go organic, that way earthworms will be encouraged to help you turn over your soil. Every year after, run a machine to aerate the yard and cover with fresh ammendments, this enables it to reach the root area. Good luck and enjoy your new home.
