How do i care for a gardenia outdoors?

Question:

Answers:
A gardenia requires well-drained soil that stays fairly moist; it also needs an acidic soil (Miracid, by the company that makes Miracle Gro, is very good). In addition, it needs LOTS of humidity; if you see the tips of the leaves starting to go black/brown, the humidity is too low.

good drainage (slightly sandy soil) full sun and water lightly but often. same way you'd take care of a hibiscus
In Florida we have them all over the place. No more than any other outdoor bush. Water once a week after established.
