What can i use?

Question:I have a lot of thorny weeds in my yard. some of them are the stinging kind here in FL we call them "7 day itch" not sure what they are really called. I dont like to let my little girl play in the back yard because the 7 day itch produces flowers and i just know she is going to try to pick them. these plants are somewhat poisonous and i know a few people who are severely allergic to them, what can i use to get rid of them with out killing off my grass and other plants?

I suggest you go to your local garden center and ask them. It is very difficult to prescribe when it is about a different area. We have nettle which is horrible but I never remember seeing a flower. Roundup kills plants very nicely but if it is among your grass then what drifts will kill the grass as well. If it is all in one area then you can weed whack it, when it starts to grow back hit it with Roundup and then when it is dead you can weed whack again to get rid of the stubble and put down a sheet of weed block and cover it with bark mulch or whatever ground cover you use in your area.
