Fertilizer turned patches of lawn brown. how do i get my grass green again?

Question:i obviously dont know much about landscaping, but my wife and i bought a fertilizer with weed control... i thought i followed all of the directions. but now, my lawn has brown patches and streaks all over it. how do i fix this and make my grass green again?

Answers:
If there is still a concentration of fertilizer granules in the brown spots, rake it out to more evenly cover the ground. Then pour the water to it. water heavily for a few days. This will help the salt (fertilizer) levels in the soil normalize. the process is called leeching.

If the grass doesn't recover after that, re-seeding will be needed. Be sure that you add additional topsoil to the patches (after removing some of the old soil). This will give the seed a chance to grow in a less fertilizer heavy environment.

Believe it or not, there is a thing as too much fertilizer..

Good Luck!

to much reseed the patches and keep it moist
Depending on the size, hoe or till it up. Reseed using seed and straw, or they have a mix out that has a mulch with seed mixed in. You have to water in about every day in summer.
Sounds like over dosage. This normally happens at corners where the drive wheel of the spreader is on the outside of the curve. The fertilizer keeps coming out while the spreader is in the same area. You will probably need to reseed after flushing the areas with water.
I agree with the above. You may have accidentally over applied the fertilizer over your lawn. Look for this guide, it will helps you to restore and nurture back your lawn. http://mama71.lawncare.hop.clickbank.net... Good luck.
