How can I keep rabbits out of my garden?

Question:

Answers:
Never tried (don't have a garden) but have read:

FENCING - Bury chicken wire or hardware cloth 18" below leaving 6 - 12" above...

MILK CARTONS to protect from rabbits (frost) - Cut off bottom of each jug & make V-shaped slit in top of handle. Poke a stick down throught handle & into ground to hold jug steadily in place.

SOUND - Rabbits are spooked by sound so burying soda pop bottles up to their necks around edge of garden will allow wind to cause that deep sound like when you blow across top of bottle - Scares them off quick.

SMELL - They are offended by smell. A few recipes to make, sprinkle outside of area, & ward off animals (incl dogs, cats, squirrels, etc):

#1: 1 clove crushed garlic, 1 T cayenne pepper, 1 tsp liquid dish soap to 1 quart warm water - Puree

#2: 5 T flour, 4 T powdered mustard, 3 T cayenne pepper, 2T chili powder, 2 quarts warm water

SCENT FENCING - (thought I'd throw this one in probably against my better judgement but...) offended by smell of pets so (these may seem a lil weird but... ) drape dog blankets around/near bushes/plants, use dog or cat hair, or although you wouldn't want to put used cat litter on soil growing edible plants, depositing some ouside garden wards off bunnies... I know... just passing it on LOL!!

Good Luck!!

You can put up a two-foot fence and when you do put six inches under the soil so they cannot dig under the fence. A dog would help as well...
Block any holes
to be practical, there are two sure ways.
1) get rid of the garden.
if there is no food, there will be nor rabbits.
2) get a terrier.
harrass them outa there.
Go around to your local beauty salons and collect human hair to spread around the perimeter of your plants.
Plant some things rabbits like elsewhere farther away to let them still have their pleasure and you can have your plants. Check on the net to find out what they don't like the most to be around and put that out too.
Get a fox. That always does it.
Remington sells a nice .22 scoped rifle that should take care of the problem. Think of the fun you can have as a family taking turns shooting the bunnies :D
I agree with the whole human hair answer. Sprinkle it around your border. I also find a perimeter of tightly bunched marigolds keeps the bunnies out as well as many other bugs desiring a meal. You may also want to plant a tiny divergent garden away from the main one specifically for critters. Kind of like a butterfly garden but with lettuce for bunnies and bugs and millet for birds in the fall.
poultry fencing 18 inches high(so you can step over it) placed completely around your garden WILL keep them out. It is what I have used and it works great. If they continue to come around, get a good pellet gun.
I haven't kept them out but to keep them from eating your plants, mix some hot sauce with water about 1/4 small bottle to a gallon, put it in a sprayer and spray the leaves of your plants. You will have to reapply after a heavy rain. It puts a tingle on their tounges and they won't eat the leaves after a while they will find somewhere else to eat. It does not harm plant.
