Answers:
Yeah it is safe as long as they're cooked properly, I think Gordon Ramsey cooked some on one of the new f words. But yeah I wouldn't be going there yuck!

Don't think there will be much call for a snail restaurant in this country somehow.
i like them boiled.
many higher end restaurants offer escargot as an appetiser. They are safe, but, I think it is a particular snail or a specific way of preparing that makes them safe, and delicious.
Don't think so!!You must have alot of them if you could open a restaurant.what part of the country do you live in? I haven't seen the first snail i would want to eat!!!
Aren't snails a starter, rather than a main course?
As far as i know they are edibleand that is really good news do you want the snails from my garden...email me it's free stock for you
If there is demand for snails in this country, then I'm a Frenchman. Auf Weidershen!!
where do u live
Yes - those snails with the big shells that cling to your walls in the garden are the same variety that the French eat. Perfectly ok but have you seen the performance you have to get through to make them edible. They have to be purged for a couple of days to get their digestive tracts clear of gunk, then they have to be boiled for ages to tenderise them, then you have to stick them back in the shells and plug the hole with garlic butter and fry em. If you can get the majority of British people to buy them then you are a better man than I am Gungadin
It's best to leave the snails in the stream only Italians eat them.
Yes they are generally safe. What they feed on will have a geat effect on the flavor. As mentioned they are usually purged for several days if you are not sure about their diet. Many years ago two men in Ca. actually started selling them to France.
