What should or can I plant ?

Question:I have an area in my backyard that is a low point and is the wettest part of the yard. What kind of flowering shrub or flowers could I plant there to take advantage of the retained moisture? The area gets sun all day.

Answers:
Iris 'Aichi no Kagayaki' (Aching Tongue Iris)

We have really enjoyed this bizarre cross of Iris. It grows well in shallow water, or wet spots. The foliage emerges chartreuse-yellow in spring, highlighted by the large flowers in mid-May. Each flower is light yellow, highlighted by an attractive brown marking near the base of the petals.
I buy from the nursery (linked below) and can vouch for their quality.
