There is more than one type of Mulberry; white, black & red are common in the US. The White mulberry has an ashy orange colored bark on younger stems and branches. Another unique characteristic of mulberry trees are their polymorphic leaves. This means the leaves are different shapes on the same tree. Sometimes the leaves are undivided, but you can find leaves with single, double, even triple lobes. Here are picts of White Mulberry leaves. Notice how some are lobed? The single lobed leaves always remind me of the shape of lower Michigan. http://biology.missouristate.edu/herbari...

Here are some leaf shots of Red Mulberry. Again, this plant can be polymorphic, though not as often as the White Mulberry. Also note in the latter picture how the leaves alternate on the branch. This is true for the White & Black Mulberry as well: http://cricket.biol.sc.edu/acmoore/527/p...

The Black Mulberry is a smaller tree than the White & Red Mulberry. Its leaves are shinny like that of the White Mulberry. Here is a leaf & fruit shot of Black Mulberry: http://www.flora-toskana.de/onlineshop2/...

I hope these help! lol
P.S. Unripe fruit and milky sap is poisonous if ingested (see last link below).
the berries look like dark purple raspberries when ripe.
A mulberry tree has large bright green shiny leaves, with lots of corners on them. The fruit start out green and spiky, but as they grow plumper they first grow red, then turn black and juicy and are about and inch and a half long, with a tiny green stalk. They will stain your hands purple, but if you rub your hands with the green fruit, the stain comes off. Enjoy!!

the berries are white until they ripen. then they look like a long raspberry, and are edible. We just took a mulberry tree down in my driveway because the berries get all over the cars, then birds eat berries and poop all over our cars. its a nasty tree. i would not cut any tree down except the mulberry. the wood smells good when burnt in a campfire.
mulberry are berrys that grow on trees they come in red, white, and black. This website will give you more information along with a photo.
They look like black raspberries when they're ripe and pick them fast because they fall off the tree quickly.
The mulberry is not rounded like must berries ,it is a soft elongated almost cylindrical fruit about an inch long, hanging from a small stalk & tends to droop downwards as it grows, the surface is not smooth but is raised in tiny pin head elevations, green to start with, red on ripening & fully ripe fruit are a rich purple, very juicy ,the juice is also a purplish colour. Will easily stain fingers & clothes,so be careful while picking & eating.
