Unknown roots in my flower bed?

Question:Please help. There is a "spider web" of roots just under the surface of my flower bed. There are no plants visible but I don't know what it is. It's a raised bed.

Answers:
Probably a weed that was in the mulch. Did you put new mulch down in the last year? If it pulls out easily it came in the mulch.
