How many standard bags of mulch equal a yard of bulk mulch?

Question:

Answers:
This is a difficult one, because mulch comes in so many different size bags. I've purchased mulch by the pound, by the foot, etc. I'm not sure if there is a "standard" size for mulch.

Keep in mind that a yard of mulch is one cubic yard (3ft. x 3 ft. x 3 ft.. That's a lot of mulch. If I had access to bulk mulch, I would take my pickup truck, purchase as much as the back of the truck will hold. Use this up, then if you need more, go back and get another load. Take your "leftover" mulch to a corner of your property and put it in a pile for use next time.

Most bags of mulch are 2 Cubic feet. There are 27 cubic feet in a yard, so doing the math, you would have to buy 14 bags. One thing to consider, most places will deliver with a charge, but it will be comparable to the mess of all the bags you may have to haul.
