I planted a bush out in the yard. I believe it's a sharon bush the ones that get flowers on them.?

Question:It's been 3 days but the leaves are looking dry. I have been keeping plenty of water on it. Is it just in shock from being replanting. Will it perk up soon? The base of the tree looks o.k.

Answers:
Rose of Sharon (althea) is a very easy to transplant bush/tree (depending on how you prune it) I have transplanted these plants many times, some of them being 6 ft. tall at the time. The larger the plant, the more shock it is going to exhibit. Just keep watering it everyday and eventually it will start to perk up. You just can't hardly kill them. They can also be easily rooted in water or better yet in sandy soil with rooting compound.. I'm pretty sure your tree is going to be fine.

its in shock and will come out soon hopefully.
I think all plants go through that after being transplanted. good luck
If it has been hot just keep watering it. You probably just shocked it, but you really wont know until next year.
It is called Rose of Sharon. Did you check the amount of sun it requires? I don't think that is a sun loving shrub, but I could be wrong.

It could be in shock. This is not the time of year to plant trees or shrubs. You only plant them in the early spring or fall.

I think I would take a leaf to wherever you purchased it & ask them. It could be a disease too. They will get more diseases in the hot weather. Do you water until there is a bit of water sitting on top of the soil? It could be what is called "leaf curl".
Give it some Root Stimulator. Fertilome makes a good product I have used successfully. If you can't find "stim" a drink of MiracleGro will help.

Rose of sharron roots easily in water.
