Cub cadet riding lawn mower -billows out white smoke -- Why?

Question:less than a year old and the riding lawn mower billows out white smoke for 5 to 10 seconds and about every 3-4 minutes. Oil level is fine and we do not believe it was ever overfilled with oil.

Answers:
Generally white smoke indicates that you are burning oil. I know you said the oil level is fine, but you may want to double check.

is it white or blueish? white is water and blue would be oil.if its a water cooled engine it most likely has a head gasket leaking.if its air cooled sounds like a broken ring.in either case being less than a year old i would think it would be under warranty
which engine? i have 3 zero turd CC movers if i overload them they will smoke a bit also ck air cleaner if clogged they will suck a little oil into carb and cause white smoke--If bad rings it would smoke all the time i would guess the air filter
