Buy a dog, or a cat of your own.
If you already have an idea why ask, but buy some catnip and sprinkle it outside your garden.
Planting marigolds around the border helped me. (They don't like the smell)
Try moth balls.
Get a 2 litre clear plastic bottle. Half fill with water and lay it on it's side in the garden
It seems that it's light reflections that do it. The cats won't come near your garden
.
shotgun usualy works quite well
Today on Channel 5 they had this very same problem. The gardener chap said the girl needed rubber snakes, as cats seemingly hate snakes (green ones to imitate grass snakes, I presume) and he was using chili powder on the ground where they were pooing on the girls gravel. The snakes went up onto the ledges of her raised flower beds. I'm only passing on what they showed you the programme Nice house shame about the garden, honest?
if you see a cat in your garden go and chase it away. It might think twice about coming back.
call your local animal control & they will set up some cat traps in your neighbourhood
Plant some Cat Shoo or "Coleous Canina".
Not unpleasant to humans but cats and dogs avoid it.
Cayenne pepper works good!! They hate it!!!
We use the same or try laying down a few branches of a thorny shrub on the soil. They soon get the message.
Toy snakes from a joke shop will work well. Honestly cats are scared of snakes.
Lie in wait and throw water over the animal - cats hate getting wet!
Try putting cocoshell on your boarders. Mixing it in with your barkchippings will detare cats from pooing in them as the smell puts mosts cats of. You can get this from most garden centres
