How much water should you give a plant (Impatients) on a daily basis if it is an outdoor plant?

Question:I have to water impatients for 6 days for a science project and each plant is given something different, but they all need to be given the same amount of liquid. So how much should I give each of them?

Answers:
I'm assuming your plants are potted and not in the little 2" square plastic tray dividers from the nursery. If they are still in those tiny tray squares, their roots will soon take up all the space (potbound) and the plants will not thrive no matter what you feed them. Transplant them into 6" pots with the same kind of potting soil. Impatiens like a shady/semi sun location.

Water them every other day so the soil is wet 1" down, approximately 1-2 cups per pot. Don't overwater or the roots will rot. Let the top of the soil dry before watering again. Plants outside are subject to wind and sun and rain, which may skew your project. You may want to put the pots in a sheltered place so you don't introduce too many variables.

1 cup every other day. not daily
how about a cup nice and even
OK..watering for six days give them each about 1/4 cup everyday. it sounds like you have to give them different types of fertilizers or no fert...so giving them each a small amount should show results in 6 days.
hope this helps.
