How do I remove water from under my deck?

Question:I have a large deck so I do not have the resources or (wo)man power to destroy and rebuild the deck. I will be moving in about 5 months so I only need a temp. solution. I have heard somethings about sump pumps but I have no idea how they work or what I need to pump out all this water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answers:
You could use a wet/dry vac and vaccuum the water out. It'll take awhile, but it is possible.

OR you could just buy a pump and pump the water out.

There is a solution you could try, but it only works if the water is higher than the point you are draining it to.

If that is the case, you can get a hose and attach it to a faucet. Hold the end of the hose so it is facing the sky... Then turn on the water... Wait until the water is coming out of the hose, then shut the water off and disconnect the hose from the faucet... Make sure you have almost a full hose of water and keep both ends of the hose pointed up to the sky... Make sure you have water trapped inside... It will create suction and drain the water if you do it right... Anyways, Put one end of those hose into the pool of water you have, put the other at the location you want the water to drain to...

Digging a hole will stop the problem, but it will leave you with a large amount of dirt and a hole in the ground.

You should make some small trenches to let the water drain out...a sump pump needs a hole at least 12 inches deep but you would still have to trench so the water would drain into the hole
Drain the water.
