Does anyone know, how and when to prune a bottle brush plant.?

Question:

Answers:
Wait till after flowering and trim the plant back by 1/3. Regular trimming is needed so they don't grow all gapy with age. They are as tough as old boots. Don't worry about old wood, I've had them in my garden and have chopped them out with an axe to get rid of a bush and they grow back to about 3 foot in a year, from a very damaged stump.

Pruning after flowering enhances a bushy growth and the appearance of new flowers.
Dead head after flowering but don't cut into the old wood. It will take a long time to pick up and produce flowers again.
