Damaged Cedar Tree Need Help?

Question:We have a large cedar tree in our yard that has been damaged by two ice storms. Right after the first storm, the tree was laying on another tree in the neighbors yard. Then it popped back up. But then another ice storm came, and it went back to its state after the first one. Now we are in the process of pulling the tree up. This however is not working too well. We have it tied off to another tree which has a crank. Although we crank it up from time to time the line keeps snapping. Should we make another one of these crank systems with another tree(so that we have this damaged tree being pulled by two trees)? Will the tree ever stand upright on its own?

Answers:
it will most likely recover but it will take some time! i'd go with the two tree method to help it out a bit! good luck

Have you tried soaking the ground as you crank? This allows the roots and dirt to move, and you wont destroy as many feeder roots. after the tree is upright leave your cables attached several months until the ground settles. Two cables to pull is good if one keep breaking. Good luck and think green
