Is there a granular weed killer that can be used to get rid of barnyard grass?
Question:I live in se Miichigan and believe I have a rye grass,I have a 5000 sq foot lawn and it is completely throughout.I know of the spray kind,but that would take forever.Thank you very much.

Barnyard grass is a warm season annual. It germinates in spring as outside and soil temperatures warm. It will set seed in late summer & die. Your best control is the use of a preemergence in early spring before barnyard grass germinates. Most preemergence labeled for crabgrass control will also control barnyardgrass. Scotts Halts Crabgrass Preventer is labeled for the control of barnyard grass and is a granular product. Please read and follow the directions on the label when applying herbicides.
