My lucky bamboo isn't growing...?
Question:I got it about a year ago, it has about 30 stalks (tied together in water in a like a fishbowl). It's not dying, but its not GROWING either. Would a bigger pot help?
Answers:
no but make sure it has enough water, soil and sunlight because if it is living on sand it wont grow in a millon years!!
a couple of things here..one the roots do need a bit of room..it also needs some food you can use a liquid fertilizer and mix into the water or find a nursery that sells "lucky bamboo" they will have a liquid food just for that plant.. but mostly it will be just a cute little name on a package that will be just a good old liquid fertilizer..Schultz makes a great fertilizer...or you might just find some B-1 its just a vitamin for plants.. it is a great root stimulator.
there is "the American bamboo society" it has chapters in the NW and in northern California and southern California as well.
good luck
give it a bigger pot.. and it might need some vitamins.. they sell something at walmart i thin ...for bamboo.. my sister just told me about it.. mine just died :( also the thing is bamboo grows very slowly.. thats why man pandas are extinct because they cant replace the bamboo fast enough and that is their main diet. little FYI .. but yea give it some more room. good luck!
