You need a hedgehog in the garden. If not a few anti slug pellets round the plants will terminate them.
put tons of salt around. it makes them shrivel up.
pour salt on them, and see for yourself.
quite disgusting.
get a hedgehog to move into your garden. they love to eat slugs and snails. but if you get one, do not put down any slug pellets because you'll have a dead or very sick hedgehog as well then.
get rid of the leafy plants that the slugs love. try to have less shady places in your garden. limit the kind of places slugs and snails like to hide.
usually, slug pellets work the best i've found out of the other things you've tried. they do tend to wash away when it's raining though. you may have to apply then more often.
My mother in law puts a full tub of salt down and it seems to do the trick. Hope it helps
Cheap beer! Yep! Snails and slugs love it and then drown. Just put some 1/2 filled open bottles or cans or even a dish or bowlful in your garden and watch them succumb to their deaths. Sounds awful and to some even wasteful because it is beer, but it works!
Use a deep open can buried so that the top is at earth level, half fill with beer. The slugs cannot get out so as they get drunk they drown.
NEVER use slug pellets if Hedgehogs are known to frequent your garden. Used correctly beer traps DO work, pellets UNDER slates or bricks can also help. Cultivation is the biggest aid to controlling slugs, healthy soil high in humus with much plant and predator variety is natures way.
ok try this again, bad weather here & power keeps blinking &
shutting down pc. try putting beer in a bowl, put out @ night and dump in the a.m.. then replace the next night. you will take out more than you thought you had. another way is to use diatononaceus earth (diatoms mined from the sea) will not harm beneficial insects such as ladybugs or praying mantis however softbodied insects such as aphidsand the like can't live in it, also snails and slugs.
Other animals that can help you : birds: thrush & blackbirds, will eat them.
Frogs/toads eat them. put out one of those big saucer drip trays full of water to encourage them, try bringing in some spawn from elsewhere(they must have water)
Deterrents : Copper tape round plant pots
Sit patio pots on top of breeze blocks
Honestly , it's an uneven struggle, pick one up & get rid of it every time you see one: don't throw them over the hedge though:they make their way back by their sense of smell!!
Give your children 2p for every one they collect, might work!

I used to be the chief horticulturalist for a golf course. Slugs were my #1 enemy I always used Deadline slug and snail killer. It works really good! Here's a little info about it and a website you can buy it at, I used to buy it at my garden center.
Deadline Force II
Slug and Snail Killer
Kill Slugs and Snails
Be cautious using this liquid slug bait in areas where pets or wildlife can possibly ingest the material. If pets or wildlife are present you should use Sluggo, a great slug and snail killer that is safe around animals.
Deadline cannot be shipped to CO, DE, MA, MI, SC, SD, TN, UT
Convenient, clean and effective, Deadline Force II resists rain. Put Deadline around tender shoots. A thin line of Deadline around the area you want to protect will keep new migrants from taking up residence in your yard. Deadline can be used around flowers, lawns, ornamentals, vegetables and berries to kill slugs.
seriously, setting out a shallow plate or dish with beer and salt in it will make them dehydrate almost immediately.just bury them before they get smelly!!
Fill jar lids with flat coca-cola and set in the garden. Slugs and snails, attracted by the sweet soda, will slither into the jar lid and be killed by the acids in the coke.
