Plants compatible with strawberries?
Question:I'm a new-ish gardener. I know that there are some plants you should NOT plant together and some you can't plant where others have been.
So - does anyone know what CANNOT be planted with strawberries? Or anything that would be damaging if I plant it there now and strawberries there next year?
My strawberry boxes had a few die off and I was going to stick something else in their place (tomatoes? maybe) just for THIS year - and replant new strawberries next year - and just don't want to plant something that might disease the strawberries.
Answers:
Strawberries do not like competition, so it would be best to either replace the ones that did not make it or don't plant anything else in with them.
If you plant new berries, they will develop at a different time than the ones that are established and will guarantee that you have strawberry production longer than you would have originally.
most plants are compatible but some will cross breed and cucumbers could taste llike peppers but strawberries could grow like weeds if left unchecked
