Question:the cats and birds in the area are eating my roses and i would like to stop this. do you have a home remedy to stop them without me going out and buying something. every morning i wake up and there are rose petals on my porch from some animals. it might even be dogs. i paid alot for my roses and i need to stop this because i am desperate

Answers:
sprinkle cayenne pepper around the base of your plants. also get a plastic garden owl .these methods together really seem to work. good luck and happy gardening.

Get a Garden Ghost. You can buy them at litterboy.com.
You can put moth balls around the bedding and that will get rid of the dogs and cats,The birds shouldn't bother the Roses but you can buy a rubber snake and leave it in plan view on top of the bush. Both of these items are available at any drug store or home improvement centers and are fairly cheap
I'm not sure a dog would be responsible for ruining your rose petals. It's more likely birds or possums.

Look for clues around the base of your roses (ie feathers or fur) before rushing out and wasting money trying to solve this problem.
I once read in a dog magazine to do this. it worked on my dogs. you have to catch them in the flower bed and keep a bottle of tobasco sauce near the flower bed and when you catch them in it you tell them no and put a couple of drops in their mouth as you are terlling them to get out of the flower bed. a couple of times of that they will stay out. mined did.it really works.
