before off setting an ecosystem consider just putting moth balls around dwellings to ward-off the snakes. if that big of nuisance let the professionals handle it and call removal service
try to get a pet mongoose..they eat snakes. but be careful not to be bitten by the mongoose!
Call your local pest control center. You do not want to chance getting bitten, or causeing undue harm. Seek educated advice and I bet this problem will disipate.
If they stay they may invite friends and family over. *raises eyebrow*
