Question:Hi there,

I am at college doing NVQ floristry,i am stuck on a question in one of my written units.I have searched google for answers but I am not having much luck.

In-Coming cut material (unit heading)

The question is :
What are common indicators of pests,diseases and contamination an the action which should be taken if this is discovered?

Any help would be really great,thank you!!!

Wow. first of all you got tell me what NVQ stands for?

As question goes, there are many indications primarily determinate of species but In this case,
ANSWER (green aphids, black mold or cloudy water?)
ANSWER: (Rid, rinse stems of mold w/soap?, change water)


one assumes you are going to be a retail florist.? any floral material recieved sub standard should be returned straight away ei. refuse the delivery. signs of pests will be holes in leaves petals ect.drooping florets showing age.as most flowers will be purchased off a lorry by you there should not be a problem.
