Daisies in a pot overwinter??

Question:I grew some daisies from seed this year. As they are perennials, they won't bloom this year. How can I over-winter them in a pot so they will come up next year and bloom? Will they die down on their own? What about watering them over winter? I'd like to sit them out in front of the house next spring, in bloom.

Answers:
Perennial daisies will over winter, however you may have better luck if you put them in the ground. Daisies do die back during the winter and they don't really need to be watered over the winter months. Spring rains revive them nicely. However, daisies planted in a pot might need a little extra water if it is a dry winter.

Place the pot in a cool spot, but not a spot that will freeze during the winter. Maybe a garage. Water well before putting them away and clear out any old foliage and check for insects. You may need to warm them up to get them growing again in the spring, maybe bring them indoors? I don't know if this will work though. Good luck!
