Shady stuff.?

Question:Can anyone recommend good small bushes or large plants that love shady, damp places in Kansas? A grass recommendation would be great too! All help appreciated!

Answers:
Fescue for the turf.

Burford holly, nelly stevens holly, yew, azalea, dog wood, hosta.oak leaf hydrangea Jap maple,

Check the internet for Azaleas,Camelias, hydrangeas, hostas, snowball bushes, viburnum, fatsia, acuba, deutzia, or mahonia - all great shrubs for morning sun or full shade.

There are perennial ferns that LOVE, LOVE, LOVE damp and shady!

As far as grass, there is a fescue that is formulated for shade and I believe St. Augustine or Zoysia can handle shade as well.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!
