I HAD ONE IT DIDN'T WORK!
No. My Mom's got a problem with underground Moles and I bought her an electronic pest stake that emits sounds every 30 minutes that's suppose to annoy the Moles and all it did was make the Moles dig more holes all over the area my Mom placed the electronic device.
Put dog poop in the gopher holes and around the perimeter. They hate this. The mole chaser electronic thing only seems to work on mice and other smaller rodents.
Yes, they work in many cases, but not all - because you have to tune the right frequency which repels the particular pest. For example, the mouse hates 32-35khz frequency - but dogs don't. Usuallly the ultrasonic repellent guys don't know themselves at what frequency a particular pest is repelled - it requires lots of hard work and experimentations before it can be installed successfully. To save the experimentation time - the companies provide you ultrasonic repellent which emitts various frequencies at various power levels - which is very dangerous to other friendly animals. It could cause nuisance to cats and dogs near your home - dogs and cats usually cope with it by crying and uneasiness.
The humane way - you can try bitter leave plants - Bittergourd spray, Azadirachta indica based spray, Jatropha as an hedge has known to repel most of animals. There has been lots of posts about bitter leave plants & natural repellents - pls search for those posts.
