When it comes to string gas trimmers (weedeaters), is a lower or a higher "cc" motor more powerful?
Question:I'm looking for a powerful weedeater to attach a brush cutting blade to and chop down some thick brush.
Answers:
Higher is better.
In Guam, we used a skill saw blade attached to a weed eater. It was able to cut down small trees about 3" in diameter.
The cc refers to the cubic centimeters of volume of air/fuel mixure that the engine draws in in one cycle. All other things equal a larger cc means a larger, more powerful motor.
The higher the CC teh more power you will have! It's just like motor cycles. Small children usually start off on a 50cc or 90cc bike and as they get older and better they move up in power! Anywhere from 150cc to 500cc to 750cc and higher!! Hope this helps!
