Scotts Step 2 and gardens?

Question:I am applying scotts step 2 weed and feed. I will be doing my best to keep it out of the flower beds, bushes, vegetable garden etc.

Do I really need to keep it away from bluberrie bushes, garden, and the rest? Will the weed control agent hurt other things?

Answers:
The broadleaf weed herbicide would damage garden plants if spread on them.

Be very careful to keep it away from ALL shrubs, flowers and trees. I have killed large trees with this by putting it close to them and then the rain or sprinkler system water causes the run off to the roots of the trees and shrubs and kills them. Last year we had to have 3 large trees (yes very large trees) taken out that I suspect was caused from my neighbors weed and feed killer that he puts on his grass , he lives up the hill and the water runs on to my lawn from his lawn. This was a tremendous loss of money and the trees. Think about your neighbors yards when you put out these poisens--they do kill more than you want them to kill--especially if your yard runs down a hill to some one else's yard. Insurance does not cover dead trees.
