I'm replacing my fence. After removing my old fence I notice a hill has been created between after the fence.

Question:It's essentially a hill that has been created between the fence pickets and my property. It's not that large maybe 3 to 5". However when I lay the new pickets should I work with this hill or should I use a shovel and cut this hill off. If I lay the pickets two low weeds wil grow and wood can rot. If I lay the pickets too high it looks weird?

Answers:
I'd think it should be graded out level to your surrounding yard.

If you want all the pickets level at the top then you have two choices;
1. Level out the hill
2. Cut the pickets off at the bottom so they fit on the hill.
