Just the nature of the beast, drought, sunburn, injury, variety can all make for crooked cukes. One way to get them to grow straight is to grow them on a trellis but even that isn't 100% foolproof. One way to have a little fun is to grow square cukes. You build a little rectangular box out of Plexiglas and let it grow into the box. Great fun for kids. You used to be able to buy them but I haven't seen one in a seed catalog in years. RScott
after they're grown, nothing. I've seen them habit toward crookedness because of too little moisture. try keeping them watered a little better.
Eat them--the shape won't affect the taste. You may have planted a variety that is supposed to grow crooked or bent. If you still have the package, check the description to see if that's what happened.
