Huge Spider??

Question:It built a home next to a stump in my backyard, it has a web around the hole and when I feed it crickets from Petco it eats them gladly. It is huge, maybe about a quarter or half dollar sized body, plus the legs, all black with short hairs. It is very sinister looking but I have become accustomed to his/her acquaintance, feeding it as I do. My question is? : is it an extremely poisonous funnel web spider or a harmless burrowing wolf spider?

Answers:
I thought the poisonous ones reside only in Australia.Probably the wolf spider.. I commend you for feeding it ... even though I am somewhat scared of these guys I do love to watch spiders we actually had a small Tarantula in out yard was really cool looking and did not like to be prodded with a stick..she actually bit it.grin but we let her go on her merry way to continue eating bugs outside..now the second they wander into the house..all bets are off unless my husband is home to save them! Sorry to ramble..I tend to do that lately :)

My ? is why feed it.
you've got more guts than I do, I would hardly feed it :{
You could probably find a picture on the internet and see what it is exactly

Sounds like a wolf spider... they love stumps...
Don't funnel web spiders have more of a funnel shaped web than burrowing wolf spiders? I always thought it was more solid and white. My opinion = Wolf Spider. But don't listen to me, I'm DEFINITELY not an expert.
Google it?
Wolf spiders can become quite large. You are one of the fortunate few to take time to look at nature and study its behavior. Even feeding them. Ah luv u! As long as you are content to feed and observe them, they are content to observe you.
