Hello all Last Month we purchased 30 Photinia plants ;Red Robin for our borded.?

Question:These were planted, watered and given a small amount of bonemeal fertiliser. The top leaves have subsequently gone from bright red to green - how can we get the colour back?

Thanks G

Answers:
It's my understanding that the red leaves on Photinia are only red when they are in the "new growth" stage, and then turn green as they mature.

I know there is one huge photinia bush on our block that is completely green now, except for the area where they had to prune it back from the sidewalk - the new growth there is red.

Hi G,

The new growth changes color as it matures. Depending where you live, they may give you good color in the fall.
