Do plum tree blossoms grow in clusters? I think I have a plum tree in my yard.?
Question:I'm pretty sure what I have out there is a plum tree. We cut it down when we first moved here two years ago, then we thought it may be a plum tree. We let it grow back all last year and it grew up a good 5 feet tall. Now it's about 6 feet tall and is peppered with white blossoms. They are tiny little clusters of blossoms that are not yet open. Do the blossoms grow together in clusters, or do they grow one by one? Plum trees have big thick thorns, right? Thanks for the help!

Good luck!
sounds like u got urself a plum tree! good luck!
On some of the plum cultivars the flowers/fruit are set very close together and resemble a cluster. A good example of this is "Blues Jam", also known as NY9041, a Damson type of plum which was developed by Cornell Research Station. You might find that your tough little plum provides wonderful fruit!
Wild plums do have thorns, but the thorns have been lost from most cultivated species.
Good luck!
