I hit a young tree with my weedeater, at its base. what should i do to it,without buying some special stuff.?

Question:

Answers:
do absolutely nothing.

just wait and see. if you have cut through the bark into the heartwood all the way around, the tree has no hope no matter what.

if you've only damaged one part or side of the bark (even if it's cut through to the heartwood), it will probably heal itself over time.

do not paint it or cover (bandage) it with anything. it needs air and exposure to scab over and heal itself.

i'm sure you didn't kill it if you just hit it on one side.

time will tell.

Unless it is a deep cut, it will probably be ok, trees are kinda tough
If it's still standing I wouldn't worry about it. But I guess you could get a couple of old socks and tie them around the cut.
Buy some latex spay paint in a can and spray what bark you tore off. Give it some water the next day.

I do this all the time when I trim branches (use the paint)

RD
Get 8 ounces of white latex paint and add 3 ounces of Listerine. Stir and mix this "paint" well.

Paint the wound on the tree with this mixture. This will seal the wound and sterilise it, until the tree has the time to repair itself.
Tree's naturally heal themselves with a special sap and will cover up the wound, and in awhile the bark will make a scar over that cut area
