I planted a potted bean; how do I properly care for it?

Question:How frequently should I water it? Where should I put it? Anything else I need to do with it? I am trying it so that I can do it for the kids I babysit; I will have to give them instructions on how to care for the beans.

Thanks!
XOXO,
Laurie

Depends on what kind of bean plant you are talking about. But I can help you a bit. If you have time go to the garden solutions web site you can find what kind of bean you planted and get exact instructions. But usually bean plants like a lot of sun and I would water at least once a week very slowly so it gets a good soaking. They also like a good fertilizer like miracle grow.

Runner beans/Stick beans/Pole beans. Take one 12 inch high pot, fill with good soil/potting compost mix. Insert 3 x 5 or 6 foot bamboo sticks around pot, tie sticks together at top to make pyramid support. Plant bean , place pot in light warm spot (avoid direct sun on pot). Water regularly to keep soil moist. Watch it grow, pick beans after flowers have set. Become `ACES`with the youngsters. Avoid baking the pot, do not skimp water when flowers appear.
